A History of Excellence and Service

Jack Brice was a far-sighted Australian with an unshakeable commitment to building Australia's industrial and manufacturing base. On the 4th of April, 1939, Jack gave life to his commitment by forming Brice Scale & Slicer Co., the only Australian manufacturer of electric slicers, mixers and potato peelers.

Six months after the business started it found itself heavily involved in the production of food machinery for the Australian and Allied Armed Forces throughout Australia and South East Asia. The high standards and quality that Jack insisted on (and that became the hallmark of Brice's products down through the years) saw the company manufacturing high precision parts for the Government Aircraft Factory.

Fifteen years later, on the 2nd of May, 1954, the company was incorporated and the name changed to Brice Australia Pty. Ltd. Over the following forty years the company expanded it's operations, establishing branches in all states of Australia, and forging solid and lasting links with other food machinery manufacturers.

Today, Brice Australia Pty. Ltd. is justifiably proud of its reputation for providing high quality food machinery to the Australian supermarket and food service industries. It continues to honour Jack Brice's legacy of excellence and service with a commitment to research, funtionality and reasonable prices.

Excellence and service extend to technical and service support for all machines sold by Brice. A team of highly trained Service Technicians are backed by manufacturers' technical material and top quality spare parts.

Brice's staff all have many years of experience in the food machinery industry - many have 20 years industry knowledge and skill, and a few close to 40 years of service. Because it's staff are every bit as important to the faith of excellence and service, Brice is one of the leaders in the new industrial revolution of worker participation. It maintains an ongoing involvement in staff training and worker equity programs.

Brice's policy of staying in contact with manufacturers in Europe, the United States of America and Asia keeps it at the edge of industry developments. It also means ongoing efforts to improve the company's ability to service the local industry. Brice is commited to "best practice" and is currently undertaking a far-reaching program to bring all of it's operations into line with global ISO standards of Quality Assurance.
